The Future Executives Institute is NRCA’s premier leadership development program for emerging and current leaders of roofing contracting companies. FEI helps participants build the necessary business knowledge, leadership skills, industry perspective and professional network to lead in a changing marketplace.
Who should apply?
Ideal candidates are current or future leaders who influence business performance, people and organizational strategy in their roofing contracting company. They are committed to growth, active participation and peer learning across topics such as leadership, finance, culture, legal risk, operations, workforce development and strategic decision-making.
FEI is a collaborative leadership experience—not simply a classroom program. Participants are expected to share perspective, engage fully and learn from the experiences of fellow roofing professionals.
Applicants must be at least 25 years old by Jan. 1 of the application year and have at least five years of progressive leadership or management experience beyond roofing crew leadership. Field leadership roles, such as foreman or superintendent, may provide valuable operational experience, but applicants also should have meaningful management responsibilities in areas such as business operations, finance, people leadership or strategy.
Cohort selection
The Admissions Committee reviews each application to build a cohort of candidates who are ready to learn from their peers while contributing meaningful perspective and experience to the class. Applicants should include clear examples of leadership experience, business responsibilities, career progression and professional accomplishments to help the committee assess program readiness.
Multiple employees from the same company may apply, though FEI aims to create cohorts that encourage open discussion and a broad exchange of perspectives. For that reason, applicants from the same company location will not be placed in the same cohort. A second applicant from a different location may be considered if space is available.
