On May 7, Cal/OSHA finalized and published a proposed amended version of its COVID-19 Emergency Temporary Standard; the Cal/OSHA Standards Board will consider the proposal for readoption at its May 20 meeting, according to caloshadefensereport.com.
The proposed updated ETS is coming more than five months after the board unanimously adopted the ETS, and during that time, Cal/OSHA has been considering potential changes, largely because of the lack of opportunity by the regulated community to consider and comment in November 2020.
Key changes identified in the proposed updated ETS involve close contacts; exposed workplaces/groups; face coverings and respirators; notification to exposed individuals; physical distancing; shared equipment; testing; training; vaccinated employees; and ventilation.
